Dear Briony,
In the haste of you leaving after all your hard work last Saturday
I didn’t feel I had really thanked you enough for such a superb evening.
I had compliments all that weekend about your delicious food and also
in a stream of lovely thank you letters.

Despite their bad behaviour, even at the ripe old age of 60,
there were some true connoisseurs there of food and wine.
They were hugely impressed by it all – from the first canapé to the last petit four!
